As the article states, an animal only has to be smart enough to survive. That being said, dinosaurs survived for millions of years. That is not to be scoffed at.
Humans have been around for a relatively short time. The question is do we have the intelligence to survive? Only time will tell.
I hope to be around long enough to see if we survive the current mess.
