Apatosaurus

Apatosaurus is one of the world's most familiar sauropods, its bones having been discovered in the American west in the late 19th century. Long known as Brontosaurus ("thunder lizard"), this giant dinosaur reverted back to Apatosaurus when it was discovered that the latter name had priority (that is, it had already been used to name a similar specimen).
