About the Redpath Museum:
Located on the campus of Montreal's prestigious McGill University, the Redpath Museum is home to numerous fossils, including full-sized reconstructions of Albertosaurus and Dromaeosaurus, as well as a T. Rex skull and a woolly mammoth. This museum's "Back to the Sea" exhibit focuses on aquatic creatures, ranging from ancient ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs to modern seals and sea turtles. The Redpath also features smaller exhibits devoted to the Cambrian Explosion, as well as trace fossils (found in Newfoundland) from the Ediacaran period.
The Redpath Museum is also worth a visit for its non-dinosaur exhibits, especially "Minerals from Quebec" and the Geological Garden, which features an array of Canadian mineral and fossils. You may also want to visit the Abe Levine Shell Collection, an exhibit of over 1,000 gem-quality seashells obtained over a lifetime by "Quebec's premier mollusk collector."
