About the Children's Museum of Indianapolis:

The largest children's museum in the United States, the Children's Museum of Indianapolis comprises 11 galleries spread out over a whopping 400,000 square feet of floor space. The main attraction for dinosaur fans is the Dinosphere, which features mounted fossils, interactive displays, a huge collection of dinosaur art, and a "Paleo Prep Lab" where kids can dig for fossils and learn how to prepare their finds. The museum also sponsors real-life fossil digs for families and schools.

Even though it's "only" a kid’s museum, the Children's Museum of Indianapolis is right up there at the forefront of paleontology research. In 2004, the museum received the fossil of a new genus of pachycephalosaur, which was named Dracorex hogwartsia ("Dragon King of Hogwarts") by its pre-teen attendees. The Children's Museum is also the home of the juvenile T. Rex "Bucky," the first specimen ever found with a wishbone (providing further evidence for the evolutionary link between dinosaurs and birds).
