North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Antarctica and Australia were all home to an impressive assortment of dinosaurs during the Mesozoic Era. Here's a guide to the 10 most notable, and most important, dinosaurs that lived on each of these continents.

To understand where and why dinosaurs lived it is necessary to look at where the continents were located at the time of the dinosaurs. I think most of the current continents were grouped together in one large continent, Pangaea or Gondwana. Making it easy for dinosaurs to move around. And also explains how dinosaurs lived in Antarctica, which was closer to the equator at the time.
